Meet Amor do Samba! We are a well established classically trained and versatile dance team lead by a Rio de Janiero Musa do Samba, and Founder Tanilee Amor.  Our team are accomplished dance , model and fitness professionals and true sambistas.  Below is a partial list of international, high-caliber dancers available for booking from Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and the SF bay area!

Tanilee | Artistic Director

2018 Musa do Samba G.R.E.S. Renascer de Jacarepagua, Rio de Janiero, Carnaval.  Tanilee Amor is founder, choreographer and artistic director of Amor Do Samba, a dance company established in 2011.

 

Tanilee curates latin themed entertainment for the tech sector (Google, Yahoo, Genentech, HP, DropBox), sporting events (Superbowl City, Stanford Stadium), and provided PR and artist management services for San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, Center for Performing Arts, and Los Angeles Sacred Music festival.  

Tanilee studied afro-latin dance at UCLA, and trains in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Uganda and Mexico. In Mexico she performed Samba, Cumbia and Afro-Merenge taking first place in Teatro de Cancun competition.  A parallel career in social enterprise, she holds a Masters in Public Administration and International Management, from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.

 

Chloe | Principal Dancer

Chloe is a professional dancer currently dancing with premier Afro-Latin Dance companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Amor do Samba (Brazilian Samba) and Los Que Son Son (Cuban Salsa). She performs for Amor do Samba's top clients including Lucas Films, Superbowl City, Levi Stage and Trilogy Resorts.

 

She has studied afro-cuban dance, salsa and son in Cuba on multiple occasions and continues to train and perform samba, salsa, son, semba, kizomba, cha-cha-cha, and dance-hall in the San Francisco Bay Area.

 

Originally from Berkeley, she loves to sing and is currently studying to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in nutrition.

Samantha | Principal Dancer

VENEZUELA

Samantha is a professional dancer and model with RAE Agency and Amor do Samba.  Born and raised in the rhythms of Caracas, Venezuela, she has dance in her bones. Growing up, the latin-afro music & dance consumed the city  & was a part of every day life.

 

She studied dance in Venezuela for 3 years under renowned dance institute of Simone Samba Show. Samantha has continued to dance samba professionally throughout the Bay Area and believes that dance is an extension of her personality and a honest expression to connect with the audience. 

She holds a masters degree in web design and new media from the Academy of Art University.

Sandra | Principal Dancer

 

COLOMBIA

 

Born and raised in Colombia she was  surrounded by its musical culture, a mixture between African, Indigenous and European rhythms and grew up performing. Her mother is to blame for teaching her how to dance & developing her love of music. Colombian and Latin American culture represents a constant celebration of life which she shares with our audiences.

 

She has performed for numerous afro-brazilan and samba dance companies in San Francisco including Amor do Samba corporate clients, Google, Kilroy Reality and Stanford Stadium - half time show, an audience of 60,000 people.   Dance is the height of body-mind connection! 

 

Sandra is a fitness, and yoga instructor, and Bar Manager.

Nikita | Principal Dancer

Nikita is a former professional Ballet dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, in New York City. Her dance background includes Ballet, African, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Tap and Hawaiian.

 

She currently teaches ballet at the East Bay Center for the performing Arts and is a Certified Pilates Instructor whose clients include the Oakland Raiders among other athletes. She loves teaching  dance and sharing the joy of dance with her audiences.


Nikita holds a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts from Saint Mary's College of California.

Sierra | Principal Dancer

Sierra is a classically trained dancers in Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Afro Cuban, Afro Brazilian, Timba and Samba.  In addition to performing for Amor do Samba top clients, she is director of a competing performance dance team with Ray of Light performing arts.  She bring poise, fire and energy to every show. 

Barbie | Principal dancer

A bay area native, Barbie has been performing samba for nearly 10 years including co-leading a samba dance company before joining Amor do Samba.  In addition to traveling to Brazil to study samba her dance repertoire includes West African, Hip Hop, Hula, Tahitian and cheerleading. 

Barbie holds an MBA and is a project manager when not bringing smiles to our clients. 

 

Celeste | Principal Dancer

Celeste is a native of the San Francisco bay area and is a natural on the dance floor.  She has danced most of her life in a variety of styles and was trained in afro-Brazilian, samba reggae and samba under Fogo Na Roupa.  She was parading in San Francisco Carnaval for three years before joining Amor do Samba as a principal dancer.  She has performed for our top clients and venues including Trilogy resorts, and the Hyatt.

 

 

Celeste studied literature at New Mexico State University. And is currently studying to become a nurse.

Renata | Principal Dancer

BRAZIL

Originally from Rio de Janiero, Brazil, Renata is a talented dancer, model and scientist who as danced samba for as long as she can remember She has performed samba and modeled  professionally in Miami, Rio de Janiero and San Francisco.

 

When not traveling, she performs with Amor do Samba top corporate clients including the Ravenswood Winery in Napa and Yoshis in San Francisco and Tahoe Mountain Club in Tahoe.

 

Renata holds a Bachelor of Sciene degree in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University. 

Mizzy | Principal Dancer

COSTA RICA

Originally from Central America, Mizzy is former Director of Pura Vida Kidz dance company out of San Jose and joined Amor do Samba after two years of performing samba professionally here in the bay area.  An active competitive salsa dancer, she is also trained in batchata, reggaeton, ballet, jazz and contemporary.   She brings extensive experience choreographing performances for weddings, birthdays and her former dance company and performs for many top bay area salsa dance companies.

Mizzy is currently pursuing a Masters in Social Work.
